Von Ellg House for sale

Von Ellg House, 14 Faure Street Malmesbury (RSA).

Von Ellg House is a beautiful example of a double story Victorian House. It is situated in Malmesbury, the heart of Swartland, where Baron Wertmuller von Ellg from Switserland became the first owner of this house.
The house was built between 1880 and 1890 and all the building materials were shipped from England. The building is of an european solidity and still features all original details, like the painted pressed ceilings, Victorian fire places, stained glass, sashed windows and Victorian tiles.
Von Ellg House has been proclaimed a national monument and appears to be one of the most important buildings in the Cape.
Malmesbury is the center of the Swartland Region, only 65 km north of Cape Town. The Swartland Region stretches from the West Coast through Malmesbury to Riebeek-Kasteel and is known for cattle-, crob and grape farming with a number of vineyards producing excellent wines (Groote Post ad Alexander Fontein in Darling; Lammershoek, Sadie Family and Babylon's Peak in Malmesbury; Kloovenburg and Allesverloren in Riebeek-Kasteel; and many more).
